She bought a cute little brown leather jacket from Forever 21. When she showed it to me I noticed the tag hanging from it was attached with a really cool safety pin. I instantly started thinking how I could use this on a card. It doesn't have the usual curl as on a normal safety pin we are so use to seeing and using. Well after doing some research on it, I found they are called "Pear shaped," "Gourd shaped" or "Round bottom" safety pins. I found several places to get them but not in large amounts unless you want to order them from overseas and that required you order 10's of thousands. I DEFINITELY don't need that that many. However, I did find some fairly good prices on eBay though.<br />
<br />
My original thought for these is that they would be perfect to hang a tag on a card or some cute little beads or something. I personally am very excited about trying these. <br />

I can't say it was my idea. I stole it from another crafter I know. I saw hers and immediately knew I had to make one for myself. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun putting this together. I did one for each month to try and represent the holiday or event for that month. It's in a regular 12x12 frame with the plastic calendar sheet on top, then the background paper, then the magnetic sheet, then I put the glass on the back to add stability to the frame. Each month I change the paper and decorations and fix the numbers for the correct month. I'm also going to make some birthday and anniversary markers for everyone in my family and friends. Maybe this way I will be better at making sure everyone gets there cards each month.<br />

"HUGE Project"You know when you think a new organization project is a good idea? Then you get started and realize, WHAT THE HECK WAS I THINKING?!? Well, that's me at the moment. Yeah !!!! I figured making an inventory of all my stamps was something I needed to do. This way it would be easier to see what I have vs pulling out all the containers of stamps I have. <br />
<br />
So, I bought two photo albums that hold 4x6 photos. I cut card stock to that size. Stamped each image from that set. Labeled it using the same color of pen as the folder for the stamp set. This way when I have an idea for a card, I can simply flip through the photo album and know exactly where to find the set of stamps I need. <br />
<br />
Well, what an undertaking!!! It took a week to stamp one container full. It's going to take me WEEKS to finish, but it will be SO GREAT when I'm done.<br />

A friend of mine is a Stamp-n-Up Consultant and put this class together. I got to meet a bunch of great ladies and had a great time. Now I'm set up to go every month....... YEAH !!! I'm finally meeting people here in Washington that love to do what I do. What a Bonus !!! <br />

At the class we did 5 of each card, 4 different designs. She had several designs to choose from so you were sure to like all the ones you made since you got to pick. Another bonus !!!!<br />

This little dinosaurs name is Fergus and he is Adorable!! I was playing with it to see what I could come up with and here it is....... I think it turned out pretty cute. It works more for a boy than girl, but it could be changed to fit for a boy too. <br />

I get to see my sister who lives there and a bunch of my friends at the class. It was A LOT of fun !!<br />
<br />
In the card kits, there are 8 different designs and 3 cards of each one. We've been going to this for the last several years, but unfortunately...... I think this was the last year. I know, BUMMER!! My friend who has done the classes may not be doing them anymore. Hopefully she will change her mind or maybe I can persuade her to change her mind. <br />
<br />
Here are the cards we made. I think they are really cute.<br />

All of these cards were made using Close To My Heart stamps and the Cricut cartridge especially made for Close To My Heart. The Cricut cartridge and stamps work together. A must for any card maker!!!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06495868612386896141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4961978651090677587.post-91994908070049711912011-11-11T14:32:00.001-08:002011-11-11T14:33:00.036-08:00Thank You !!!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Putting your twine in sugar dispensers. I love this!!!! It keeps the twine from getting tangled and it's super easy to get just the exact amount you need. As soon as I saw the article, I was out looking for these wonderful little jars. I found them at Walmart for .97 cents each. Soooo Cheap !!!! I filled up my jars and put them on my shelf in my craft room. It looks so pretty !!!!<div>

I heard it the 1st time in the Burlesque movie which I just recently watched for the very first time. I know, I know I'm slow on the uptake and yes this movie has been out for awhile and I'm just watching it now. Anyway...... It reminds me of my cancer battle. It's all about not being broken and always rising above the crisis' in spite of everything. Hubby watched the movie with me and liked it very much and before I could say anything about the song, he pointed it out to me and said it reminded him of me and my cancer battle too. Below are the lyrics to it and further down my blog is music that plays while you are my page. It also has the song listed which you can click on to hear it for yourself. I LOVE IT !! I hope you like it too. Enjoy !!!<br />

Getting it organized and gone through. I've gotten rid of some things that I know I won't use. I know, I know some of you are thinking, OMG she got rid of stuff? Yes, I did. It's nice to know what I have, therefore know what I want to work on.<br />
<br />
The room I have to say is looking really nice. It's colorful and visual. Which for me, it has to be. I'll post pictures once I'm done. I've got a few more things I need to take care of.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06495868612386896141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4961978651090677587.post-64063173725981761382009-07-22T15:52:00.001-07:002009-07-22T16:38:35.676-07:00It's been way too long<div>
<div>I need to get on this more. I'm totally slacking. However, since my last post, I've been EXTREMELY busy. We've had family visiting, Alyssa and I have been to California for my Nephew's wedding. We were also able to visit some friends while we were there, but not <strong>nearly</strong> as many as I would have liked. </div>
<div>I've got some cards to post, that I made from the Close to My Heart "Tickled Pink" set. I'll post those soon. </div>
<div>I'm glad to say my nephew Brian (the one that just got married) and his new beautiful wife Brittney are moving here to Forks, Washington. I am so excited. I will have some of my family here. Grant it, they will be about 4 hours away, but it's a heck of a lot closer than California and Arizona where the rest of the family's at. So, I'm grateful I will have them that close.</div>
<div>Also while we were in California, I got so spend some time with my great niece Allie. She is so cute and what a personality she has on her. I've missed her. When I left Calfornia, she was only 2 mos old. She has grown a TON since we left. What a little Doll Baby she is. Soon she will have a baby sister who I'm sure will be just as cute. </div>
<div>Oh, and we've also been at Rod's mom (Ma) and wayne's (Pa) helping put in a garden. It is doing fabulous. We have potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, peas, beets, green onions, rutabaga, lettuce, zuchini, squash, cantaloupe, plus a bunch more I can't even think of. I am frequently told there are many weeds there with my name on them that need to be pulled. I guess I need to put on those garden boots and gloves and go pull weeds. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>I'm also taking a watercolor class on Monday nights. I'm really liking that. It's a lot of fun. The paintings so far have turned out pretty good. I've posted one of them below. I'm actually surprised at some of them. I didn't know I could do that. </div>
<div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJu2ZmI1RxIUAt6FDaqWDYMqaFkONtqqxdyAQw-MUiNr1LxQGBp4sLNMK-MRqkYWHIY8H6MT16X2liY0tBtTWs2Bgho7MbEoT4bCMdXURc7gzFPFI8SYIvYsVS27dI1f7bYulJmEC_kq22/s1600-h/watercolor+flowers.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 144px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361427402156289170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJu2ZmI1RxIUAt6FDaqWDYMqaFkONtqqxdyAQw-MUiNr1LxQGBp4sLNMK-MRqkYWHIY8H6MT16X2liY0tBtTWs2Bgho7MbEoT4bCMdXURc7gzFPFI8SYIvYsVS27dI1f7bYulJmEC_kq22/s200/watercolor+flowers.jpg" /></a></div>
<div></div>
<div>We also have a new kitten. Well he's not so new now. His name is Scout and he is a handful. When he was little he was a total snuggler and loves to have his belly rubbed. Not many cats I know will let you rub there bellies. He also loved to sleep on you, but now he's Mr. Independent. He definitely knows Alyssa is his Mommy. She can pretty much dress him in baby clothes and he'll let her do it. Here's a picture of him......</div>

<div>I've made this post especially long since its been FOREVER since I've been on here. I hope all is doing well. Take care.

Rod and I have been married for 20 years now. What an accomplishment. With all that we have been through, I have to say we are happier now than we have been ever. I'm looking forward to the next 20 years. As Rod wrote in my anniversary card, "The best is yet to come."Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06495868612386896141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4961978651090677587.post-40725223484424634752009-01-02T01:40:00.000-08:002009-01-02T01:52:14.593-08:00Happy, Happy New Year!!!<div>I made it. It's the first time in many years that I've made it past midnight on new years. Amazing!!!! I actually was up past 2am playing games with Alyssa and Jared. We played Scattergories and laughed our heads off. What a crack up that game is to play. We had a lot of fun. At midnight, the area around us went crazy with fireworks. And, I'm not talking about little cheapy fireworks, they were the "Disneyland" kind going off all over. It was awesome. Perfect view out Alyssa's window upstairs. If they do this much on New Years, I can just imagine what they do for 4th of July. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Anyway, I wish everyone a very happy and prosperous 2009. Lord knows, we ALL need it. I hope and pray that everyone is very successful in everything they do. </div>

I bought some wood letters and decorated them with background and texture paper. It was very easy and fun. I have some paper that is similar to the "Shabby Chic" look and decided this would be perfect. I've hung these letters in my craft room on the wall to inspire me to be creative.
<p>Take a look at the picture I've attached and tell me what you think. The picture shows up pretty small on the post, but if you click on it, it fills the screen and you are able to get a better look at the letters.

It's been snowing here. Not as much as where my mom and sister are in Arizona, but enough for me. I've been away from snow now for about 14+ years. The dogs love the snow. I can't seem to keep them out of it. There like two little boys, constantly pestering me to go play in the snow. Bear with is short little legs and long fur, he comes back in with hair just covered with snow. I'm getting used to driving in it. What a joy that is. I definitely need to get some sand bags or something to put in the back of my van to help weight it down for traction. I've attached some pics so you can see the house with its Christmas lights and the snow plus some of the dogs playing in it.

It's been way too long since I've added anything to this blog. So.... for a quick update, all is well here. It's been absolutely BEAUTIFUL with all of the fall colors in the trees. I've been told I'm getting quite a treat to be having such an awesome fall. It is breathtaking to drive around and look at all the reds, browns, yellow and greens in the trees. Sometimes it just takes my breath away. I am however not very happy with myself, I would have liked to have gotten some pictures when everything was at its peak in color, but I never had my camera with me when I came across a beautiful landscape of colors.
As a side note..... I went through all my copic markers and made the tags shown below with the different levels of color. It wasn't as easy as it appears to be. You definitely have to use paper that won't bleed. I tried using the CTMH paper and it didn't work, so I had to find paper especially made for Copic markers. Thankfully Alyssa had some.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06495868612386896141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4961978651090677587.post-21790481853494945692008-08-30T10:09:00.000-07:002008-08-30T10:21:50.036-07:00Markers - Great IdeaI was perusing the blogs and checking my email this morning and I had received an email from one of my favorite stamp websites.... Purple Onion Designs. I checked out their blog and saw this great idea for making color swatches for all of your markers. Her example was done with Copic Markers, but you could do it with I think, any markers. She first used a tag punch, then took each one of her makers and three lines of colors. The first line is one layer of color, the second line is two layers and the third line is three layers which allows you to be able to see the shades of the colors. She also wrote the name of the marker along with any number that is associated with that color. Once she was done, she hung all of these tags on a book ring. This allows you to be able to find that exact color you need to go with the cardstock and B&T paper. It will take some work, but this is exactly what I'm going to do.

I found a website that offers "FREE" fonts. Check it out. It's Scrap-n-Fonts. I have the link for you to use down a bit on the page. Once you are on the webpage, click on "Fonts" (Left side of the page) then on "Free" fonts. There are currently 5 fonts listed that are free.

<div>I just couldn't resist this. I went looking for our dog "Bear" today. He's like a little kid. You've got to know where he is at, at all times. Well today when I found him, I definitely laughed at this one. I mean..... really laughed. I found him downstairs with this on his head. He was moving back and forth like Ray Charles. I just couldn't resist..... Had to take a picture of this........ It was the perfect "candid" moment. </div>

All the product we used is from CTMH. We used the new xmas card kit and we still had enough left over to make 1 of each of the 4 different cards from the kit. This was so fun to make and what a treat it was to sit and play. This would make a great gift for someone. They just have to attach the pictures.

I miss all of you and want a way to stay in touch, so I figured.... what better way than to start a blog. However.......I'm not having much luck. I'll have to get my daughter to help me. You know how kids are, computer sponges. They seem to plop themselves in the computer chair and go to town on it. If only they put that much enthusiasm into their homework. It's no issue for them to get on the computer and just figure things out. I can usually navigate my way through, so we'll just have to see how this turns out. WISH ME LUCK!!!!!
Feel free to post a new scrapbook/card how-to, comment, joke, antidote, whatever smokes your shorts. Just so we stay in touch.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06495868612386896141noreply@blogger.com0
